The magic of the placebo By Eric Mead
I have not been bloggin for a few days. Things have gone a little crazy but I am back 🙂
I watched this interesting short video on TED and I thought I would share it with you.
Sugar pills, injections of nothing — studies show that, more often than you’d expect, placebos really work. At TEDMED, magician Eric Mead does a trick to prove that, even when you know something’s not real, you can still react as powerfully as if it is. (Warning: This talk is not suitable for viewers who are disturbed by needles or blood.) (Recorded at TEDMED, October 2009 in San Diego, CA. Duration: 9:06)
Enjoy 🙂

An Interesting view on Social Media – a negative one
While the business community is embracing Social Media at record pace there are still skeptics out there and they have the right to be heard. Here is what Marc Gordon has to say:
Why No Business Should Be Involved In Online Social Networking
Still think spending all that time updating your Facebook page and twittering is going to help your business? Have I got news for you!
Take a look at these four scenarios.
- A teenaged boy is sharing strategy secrets on a Playstation 3 Facebook group.
- A father is posting photos of his family’s day at the beach to Flickr.
- A mother is uploading a video of her daughter’s recital to You Tube.
- An HR consultant is twittering about recent changes in employment law.
Which one of these people stands out as being unique from the others in the way they are using social networking?

How to find the tracking code from within your Google Analytics account
Shamefully today I struggled to find the Google Analytics code for an old account. I checked everywhere and I couldn’t find it. Finally I have found a post on the weband bingo! There it was…
Couldn’t they make it a little easier and more intuitive to find it? Go figure… here’s how you can find it:
- Log into your Analytics account
- Select the account that has the profile you are interested in
- Click to select the profile
- From that profile’s actions column, click on “Edit” (on the right side)
- At the top right click on “Check Status” (a little elusive…)
- The tracking code is further down the page 🙂
Here’s a short video you may find useful.
