Go To School and get a job or … become an entrepreneur?

They always to tell us:

  • go to school
  • get a job
  • get married
  • buy a house
  • have kids
  • retire
  • enjoy life

Not necessarily in this order but… you get the idea. You have probably heard it yourself.

What’s wrong with this picture? What is all this is wrong? Or, let me say it better, what is the sequence is wrong? Or…what if this is wrong for SOME of us? I am not saying this is for everyone.

Here’s the problem: school prepares you for academic and/or professional education but there is virtually no financial education available.

However financial information is what banks ask for. And if you are unable to produce it then…you cannot get what you need.

School train people to be employees.

BUT:

  1. What if we can enjoy life now?
  2. And NOT slave for someone else?
  3. And be FREE?
  4. And financially independent?
  5. NOW?

Robert Kiyosaki has been teaching this for years. I always enjoy watching his videos and reading his books. I hope you will too 🙂

Here are some comments to the movie:

It makes me angry that we were sold this idea that if you just go to college and get a good job that you will be financially secure. A lot of smart, hard-working people have been sold this lie and it just isn’t true anymore. Maybe it was once, but not anymore.

How much is your degree actually worth, as compared to the cost of your schooling? Many folks pay for an overpriced eduction (e.g. Ivy league schools). With the help of financial awareness from Robert Kiyosaki, I am filling in the gaps that my formal eductaion did not cover. Still have several years before financial independence, but knowing was the first step to changing. The balance sheet helps keep my decisions in check with my goals.

Enjoy 🙂
